Spending too much time helping your clients with back or neck pain be more comfortable?
The BACpillow is an affordable, one-step, long-lasting tool that provides your clients with comfortable support when lying supine. It saves you time and keeps your clients happy.
It is so comfortable your clients will love it. This supportive pillow holds the spine in natural alignment to ease back, shoulder and neck pain and its design actively encourages core activation.
The BACpillow simplifies the task of providing support for your client when they are lying on their back. No more need for over-sized pillows, multiple towels or hard headrests to lift the head. While these help a little, they don't truly provide the head, neck and back alignment the body needs for optimal support. Clients with kyphosis, back or neck pain, benefit from this additional care.
The BACpillow is a quick and easy way provide spine support for your clients. We have found that, for some people, lying on the BACpillow instantly alleviates their back and neck pain.
In our studio, we use the BACpillow with all our clients because it helps their spine "lengthen" and they can engage their core muscles more effectively.
You will find that your clients like using it so much that they will reach for the BACpillow as they enter your studio, even before you ask them to.
This back pillow design follows the natural curves of the spine which helps the body relax when lying on the back. The BACpillow has the added benefit of helping your clients identify their lower abdominal muscles, specifically the transverse abdominis (TA). With the spine in its natural (neutral-spine) shape, the sensation of lower TA muscles contracting is more pronounced, therefore all supine exercises are more beneficial and enjoyable for your clients.
This is an interview with Peta Tate who taught Pilates in her own studio for many years. She explains why she found the BACpillow an essential tool in her studio.
The shape of this pillow means that you can use it on all Pilates equipment.
Its cut-away head and neck support fits perfectly on reformers. You won't need the head rest anymore as you will have something better - better because it does more than lift the head, it supports the head, neck, shoulders and spine.
Comments by Pilates Instructors
Such a great piece of equipment; I also use it for clients with shoulder issues as I find the shoulder & neck support really helpful as they focus on their ab recruitment. It fits so easily on the Reformer. Every studio needs one!

The BACpillow encourages greater core activation for supine exercises such as:
The BACpillow was created by an Australian Pilates instructor.
"During my Pilates training, one statement by the lecturer stood out to me. It was that for Pilates exercises to be beneficial, they must be functional.
I then began to question why do exercises lying flat on the back when functionally - walking and running - people have a very slight forward lean (tilt) from the hips. This tilt naturally engages the TA and other spine supporting muscles.
Two years later, after many prototypes, the BACpillow shape was finalised. Because the BACpillow places the spine in it's natural functional position, your body's muscles naturally find their preferred state; and the spine feels pain free. In this position, core exercises work best." Pia, Melbourne
The BACpillow is made in Australia.
The BACpillow's original name was the TA Finder. That's because the natural spine-support muscles such as that Transversus Abdominis (TA) are lightly engaged just by lying correctly on the BACpillow. This can help many clients feel these muscles better. The current name, BACpillow, is an acronym: Back, Abs (abdominals) Core pillow.
